Lauren is currently a business analyst working at a startup healthcare IT company called Pathfinder Health Innovations and is currently in school for Interaction and User Experience design at KU. She attends design events in the KC area regularly, and feels very passionate about how healthcare software could benefit from user-centered design.
After graduating from NWMSU with a degree in Interactive Digital Media: New Media, Bree Walter began working at Netsmart, a healthcare IT company. Bree works for Netsmart as a Senior User Experience Engineer where she has played a role in over 70+ efforts across all of the company’s products and has seen projects through the entire UX spectrum, from research to design to testing to delivery. Additionally, her team recently began the large effort of creating a company-wide design which is now being implemented across solutions. Bree also acts as a mentor to interns on the UX team and has presented at many company-wide conferences to increase awareness around UX. Outside of her work, Bree is very involved with the American Cancer Society, enjoys camping and antiquing, and spoiling her Australian Shepherd, Ollie.
Graciela Aguilarleon is a senior UX engineer at Netsmart, a local healthcare IT company that focuses on many different sectors within the healthcare spectrum. She has provided onboarding, event planning, and mentorship for approximately 30 interns. Her passion for UX paired with her experience in planning and coordinating many different events makes her our perfect Director of Events.
Sarah Lanzer has been on the board of UXPA for 2 years. She has worked to provide great user experiences to many industries including: Healthcare, Advertising, Automotive and Insurance. She is Currently a Senior Experience designer at SelectQuote. She is also the leader of the Kansas City chapter of ‘Ladies, Wine and Design’ a women’s monthly design chat.
Mel Hogan is Director of UX at C2FO.com.
Mel has worked with clients in several sectors, including travel, automotive, medical, consumer web application design, and mass media. His client experience includes Yahoo.com, Ford Motor Company, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, MSNBC, 3M, and Garfield.com, to name a few. Mel has garnered numerous awards for his work including 3 Gold Addys, 4 Webby awards, and several HSMAI (Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International) Awards.
Mel received his BFA from The Kansas City Art Institute, one of the top independent art universities in the U.S.. Mel has also been one of the few Adjunct instructors asked to teach at KCAI without first receiving his Masters, and taught a successful Branding and Identity class in 2008.
When he’s not designing, Mel volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Kansas City, and is working on a self-published comic book with his wife Kathryn.
